Obituary
Laura Bell Ramsey Jackson, daughter of the late Jerry and Lucy Ramsey, was born April 23, 1915
in Harlem, Georgia, she departed her life suddenly on January 24, 2005 at Doctors Hospital in
August, Georgia.
Laura (Big Mama) received her education through the public school system in Harlem, Georgia.
She moved to Miami, Florida in the early 1950s were she spent most of her life. Big Mama loved
living were she could have fun in the sun fishing, laughing and catching that beautiful tan of hers all
while laying back feeling that lovely Miami breeze.
Big Mama was also a member of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida,
where she was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. And all
who knew her will always be comforted by her smile, sense of humor, powerful and encouraging
words.
Big Mama loved us all very much and I know she would love to see each and every one of us again
but as she always said Only If the Lord Say So so in his name we pray. Amen
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters; Rose Merry Hankerson of August, Georgia , Annie
