HER CHILDREN
f
On February 10, 1956, Mary Ann was born to Iola and James Brown in Helena, Arkansas.
She was the sixth of nine children (four boys and five girls), and she was also the baby girl.
As a young girl, she moved from Arkansas to Fort Pierce, Florida with her parents where
she was educated in the St. Lucie County Public School District.
She met and married the Love of her Life, Willie Oscar Haugabook, Sr., on July 30, 1977.
After residing in Florida for many years, they moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1986. Mary
Ann entered the workforce at an early age. She held various positions in the hospitality
industry, and she also worked in the food service industry at local schools in Augusta,
Georgia. She ran a successful cleaning business for many years until her retirement.
Mary Ann gave her life to Christ at a very early age and loved attending church. While living
in Fort Pierce, Florida, she was a member of the Tabernacle Church of Deliverance. While
living in Augusta Georgia, she was a faithful member of the House of the Lord Pentecostal
Church for over twenty years until her passing. She served on the Usher Board, The Youth
Department, The Hospitality and Church Beautification Committee, and various others.
Her passion was working with the youth.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father, James Brown, Sr.; mother, Iola Brown;
sisters, Millie Ann Brown, and Burvet Brown; and granddaughter, Miesha Holt. Mary Ann,
who was affectionately known as Shorty, was loved and adored by her family and friends.
Mary Ann departed this life on October 2, 2021, to begin a new life eternal.
Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband of forty-for
years, Willie Oscar Haugabook, Sr.; seven loving sons, Harvey Simpson, Morris Porter
(Camille), Willie Haugabook, Jr. (Shaherah), Ronald Haugabook (Lynette), Donald
Haugabook, Kenny Haugabook, and Darius Haugabook (Sandy); one loving daughter,
Juanisha Haugabook, all of Augusta, Georgia; two sisters, Patsy Adams, and Sylvia Williams
(Martin), Augusta, Georgia; four brothers, James Brown, Jr. Augusta, Georgia, Jerry Brown

Just because you cannot see me, does not mean I am not I am not there,
Just because I am in heaven, does not mean I do not care.
I often see you crying, you often say my name,
I want to hold you tight, I want to ease your pain.
Its easy for me, for I know heaven is real,
If you knew the truth, how much better would you feel.
One day we will meet again, but only when the time is right,
When you step out of the darkness,
I will be standing in the light.
We the family of Mary pledge with our deep
appreciation the many expressions of love, concern, and kindness shown to us during
our time of sorrow. We are truly grateful for your friendship and support. May God
continue to bless you. - The Family
