Augusta, GA 30906 Shorty AUGABOOK 1 0, 1 956 - October 2, 2021 HER CHILDREN f On February 10, 1956, Mary Ann was born to Iola and James Brown in Helena, Arkansas. She was the sixth of nine children (four boys and five girls), and she was also the baby girl. As a young girl, she moved from Arkansas to Fort Pierce, Florida with her parents where she was educated in the St. Lucie County Public School District. She met and married the Love of her Life, Willie Oscar Haugabook, Sr., on July 30, 1977. After residing in Florida for many years, they moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1986. Mary Ann entered the workforce at an early age. She held various positions in the hospitality industry, and she also worked in the food service industry at local schools in Augusta, Georgia. She ran a successful cleaning business for many years until her retirement. Mary Ann gave her life to Christ at a very early age and loved attending church. While living in Fort Pierce, Florida, she was a member of the Tabernacle Church of Deliverance. While living in Augusta Georgia, she was a faithful member of the House of the Lord Pentecostal Church for over twenty years until her passing. She served on the Usher Board, The Youth Department, The Hospitality and Church Beautification Committee, and various others. Her passion was working with the youth. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father, James Brown, Sr.; mother, Iola Brown; sisters, Millie Ann Brown, and Burvet Brown; and granddaughter, Miesha Holt. Mary Ann, who was affectionately known as Shorty, was loved and adored by her family and friends. Mary Ann departed this life on October 2, 2021, to begin a new life eternal. Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband of forty-for years, Willie Oscar Haugabook, Sr.; seven loving sons, Harvey Simpson, Morris Porter (Camille), Willie Haugabook, Jr. (Shaherah), Ronald Haugabook (Lynette), Donald Haugabook, Kenny Haugabook, and Darius Haugabook (Sandy); one loving daughter, Juanisha Haugabook, all of Augusta, Georgia; two sisters, Patsy Adams, and Sylvia Williams (Martin), Augusta, Georgia; four brothers, James Brown, Jr. Augusta, Georgia, Jerry Brown (Malecia), Dr. Andrew Brown (Sharon), and Tommy Brown (Betty), Fort Pierce, Florida; mother-in-law, Maurine Haugabook; brothers-in-law, Jerome Haugabook, Cornell Haugabook, Joe Haugabook, Micheal Haugabook, and Allen Haugabook; sisters-in-law, Shirley Ann Haugabook, and Joann Haugabook, all of Fort Pierce, Florida; twenty-four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.
