years. We would like to thank you for all of your phone
calls, text messages, love and support. We would like to
send a special thank you to all of you who truly weathered
the storm with us over the last several years. Thank you for

MRS. WILLIE MAE WILL REID HARRIS was born on
February 26,1945, in Columbia County, Georgia to the late
John Henry Reid and the late Gladys Reid. Willie Maes two
brothers, James Reid and William Reid, went to be with the
Lord years prior.
Willie Mae gave her life to God at an early age. She was a
graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School, Augusta, Georgia.
In the early 1980s, Willie Mae joined Augusta Deliverance
Evangelistic Church where she remained a member until
she went on to glory.
Willie Mae, Will, Willie Baby, or Mama as we called
her, was a mama to many and a jack of all trades.
Mama was a great cook, hair stylist, care giver, nurturer, fix
it woman, etc.; you name it, . . . mama could do it! Mama
never met a stranger; mama loved children and they loved
her back. She gave selflessly without thought or worry of
any compensation. That was just the kind of woman Mama
was. To know her was to love her.
She is survived by: a devoted and dedicated husband, Carl
V. Harris, Sr., who was by her side until the very end; four
children to continue her legacy, Bridget S. Harris, Atlanta,
Georgia, Carl V. Harris, Jr., Augusta, Georgia, Thaddaeus
D.K. Harris, Augusta, Georgia and Ashley Harris McCoy,
Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters that she loved dearly, Lucille
(Lawrence) Madison, Arma Jean (Herbert) Gerald, both
of Hephzibah, Georgia and Melissa A. Reid, Augusta,
Georgia; three loving aunts, Mamie McKie, Lucy Bea Ivey
and Josephine Sturgis, all of Augusta, Georgia; beloved
grandchildren who will continue her legacy for years to
come, Sheronne Harris, Kahlil Harris, Angela Harris,
Princess Lowe, Tabius T McCoy, Kennedy Harris, Isaiah
J. Harris, Sylvia Hill, Carl Harris, Thaddaeus Harris,
London Terry, Tamarin Burkins, Destiny Foreman, Marissa
Eubanks and Elijah Eubanks; brothersTnTaw, Jack Harris,
Alamogordo, Arizona and Euwarner (Gwen) Harris, Blakely,
Georgia; two sistersTn-law, Dorothy Dot Harris Barnes,
Blakely, Georgia and Nancy Harris Henry, Donalsonville,
Georgia; many devoted friends that were family and loyal
to her until she left this earthly realm, Luther Iglehart,
Sheila Gilbert, Janie Rickerson, Pamela Dunn, Lulabelle
Newby, Katie Hicks, Alisa Hicks, Connie Adams, Barbara
and Cleveland Yarde, Sharma Foreman, Jessie Smith and
Hope Iglehart; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, great
nieces, great nephews and devoted neighbors. As our mother
would say, If I left anyone out, God forgive me.
My mother is a woman like no other. She gave me life,
NURTURED ME, TAUGHT ME, DRESSED ME, FOUGHT ME, HELD ME,
SHOUTED AT ME, KISSED ME, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY LOVED ME
UNCONDITIONALLY.
There are not enough words I can say to describe just how
IMPORTANT MY MOTHER WAS TO ME, AND WHAT A POWERFUL
INFLUENCE SHE CONTINUES TO BE..MOTHER, WE LOVE YOU!
