Sister Juanita Weeks Curry was born to the late Andrew Weeks, Jr. and Julia Montgomery
Weeks on April 22, 1947, in Anniston, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her brothers,
Andrew Weeks, II and Willie C. Weeks, and a sister, Alma Weeks.
A TIME TO LOVE:
Juanita was united in holy matrimony on November 25, 1968, to the love of her life, the late
James Curry in Anniston, Alabama, and from this sacred union, two children were born, Michael Edward Curry, Sr. and Timothy Darnell Curry. The family relocated to Augusta, Georgia where she laid her roots, built a home, and served her community for decades tocome. -
A TIME TO SERVE:
Juanita graduated with the amazing Class of 1965 of Cobb Avenue High School in Anniston, Alabama, before extending her education at Hampton University. Shortly following, Juanita began her career as an Administrative Assistant for Psychological Services at the Richmond County Board of Education. She also served as the Administrative Assistant at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member for more than forty years. Exemplifying the true essence of Christs' church, Juanita dedicated her time to spreading the Gospel to the youngest attendees as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Sarah Frazier Gospel Choir, Kitchen Ministry, and Ministerial Staff.
A TIME TO LIVE: With a smile that could light up the room, Juanita, lovingly referred to as "Nita, enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling the world, and staying up-to-date on the latest sports news. Her true passion was expressing her love through the art of cooking, where she became known for her infamous southern dishes.
A TIME TO REMEMBER: Known throughout the Augusta community for her bold personality, gracious spirit, and resilient nature, Juanita's presence and legacy will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones: devoted children, Michael (Katrina) Curry, Sr. and Timothy Darnell Curry; grandchildren, Deon Curry, Michael Curry, Jr., and Crysten Curry; sisters, Helen Weeks, Minnie West, Antionette (Charlie) Thomas; brother, Willie Gene (Alberta) Curry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives, and friends.
