OBITUARY

DAISY B. CUNNINGHAM was born in Lincoln
County, Georgia in 1899 to the late George and
Ruth McCord.
She moved to Augusta, GA where she met and
married the late Frank Smalley. To this union
was born a loverly daughter Annie Frank Smalley.
DAISY later moved to and worked in several
locations including New York and Chicago.
Upon her return to Augusta, she met and
married the late Thomas Cunningham. She was
an active member 6f many years of Elim Baptist
Church where she served faithfully as chairman
of the Senior Usher Board.
MAMA DAISY, as she was affectionately
called, loved her church family. The monthly
Communion Service faithfully brought to her
during her final years of confinement, by the
Elim Board of Elders was always a special event
to which she looked forward with Joy. She loved
to sing, whether alone or with her visitors.
Her powerful voice was often lifted in joyful
songs to while away the long hours of confine-
ment. She remained cheerful despite her long
illness.'
She often talked of Jesus her Saviour and
Frined and looked forward to.the day when she
would behold His lovely face in Glory.
MAMA DAISY fell asleep peacefully in her
95th year, on Monday evening February 7, 1994.
She leaves to cherish her memory; one daughter,
Annie Smalley Smart; a step-daughter Annie Mae
Cunningham Harris; two grand daughters, Marjorie
Smart Cantrell and Ann Smart Richards; one step-
grand daughter, Ella Harris Carter; five great
grand children, one step-great grand child and
five great-great-grand children.
