ST. JOHN MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH HOMEGOING CELEBRATION
Warrenville, South Carolina Friday, July 10, 2020
11:00 A.M.
Reverend Curtis Blocker, Residing Pastor
St. John Missionary Baptist Church
Reverend Herman Bing, Officiating Pastor
Carpentersville Baptist Church
Loree Thomas Carter peacefully answered the call to her heavenly home on July 2, 2020,
surrounded in love by her family singing and praising the Lord. Loree, affectionately
known as "Muggie," was born in McBean, Georgia on June 10, 1941, to Jessie Mack
Thomas and Willie Morgan Thomas. She was the last surviving child of her immediate
family.
Loree was educated in the Richmond County School System, where she attended Lucy C.
Laney High School, class of 1959. During her time there, she played basketball, her
favorite sport.
Loree was baptized at a young age by Rev. M. E. Turner in 1952 at Palmer Grove Baptist
Church. She served for many years in the Mary Walker Choir, the G & W Club, and as a
Missionary. Loree later joined Carpentersville Baptist Church, faithfully singing with the
Mass Choir and Thomas Brown Senior
Choir. She was also a member of Partners
for the Pastor until her health failed. She
loved the Lord and knew her purpose on
Earth was to serve to uplift His kingdom.
As an example of her love and
commitment to family first, Loree gave
birth to her first child Tyrone Bernard
Thomas. She was united into holy
matrimony on December 27, 1959, to
Everett B. Carter. To this union, eight
children were born.
Later in life, Loree retired as a School Bus
Driver at Richmond County Board of
Education after 32 years of service. She
was a dedicated member of the Georgia
Bus Driver's Association, participating in
many bus rodeos and winning several
awards and championships. She was a
very proud bus driver for the 1996
Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta,
Georgia. She also was employed part-
time at Burger King for 17 years. She loved greeting everyone with a smile because she
adored people.
Loree's hobbies included sewing, bowling, cooking, and baking, including her famous
sweet potato pies. Those pies were a sure way to brighten everyone's day. As a
homemaker, she enjoyed making her children's clothing, cooking full course meals, and
baking with her family's love. She loved bowling so much that she joined a bowling league
and led her team to win several tournaments.
She was the epitome of a virtuous woman - always kind and sweet yet witty and clever.
She valued her family and loved her children and grandchildren dearly, instilling morals
and values while teaching them to love the way God loves. Loree never missed any
important sporting, school, or college achievement event. She had a passion for people and
advocated for kids of all kinds. Her belief was in the "Golden Rule," treating others with
kindness, love, and respect. She conducted all tasks in decency and order while showing
compassion and empathy.
The love Loree has shown to others was simply remarkable. Her love shined through in her
smile, which became her logo. Her personality was her business card, and the experience
of her was a trademark left on everyone's life. She was loved by many, but most of all, she
was loved by God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Mack and Willie Morgan Thomas; three
siblings, Mr. Willie Thomas, Mrs. Bertha Mills and Mrs. Irene Hogg; a son, Tyrone Thomas;

No Repast will be Observed.
Theres no love like a mothers,
Her heart is filled with care.
With Christ as her example,
Her Saviors love shell share.
A mothers love is endless,
Not changing for all time.
When needed by her children,
A mothers love will shine.
God bless these special mothers,
God bless them every one.
For all their tears and heartaches,
And special work theyve done.
When days on earth are over,
A mothers love lives on,
Through many generations,
Gods blessings on each one.
Be thankful for our mothers,
Who love higher love,
From power God has given
And strength from up above.

These are Angels God puts on this Earth,
Who care for us and guide us.
You can feel their love and gentleness
as they walk through life beside us.
They do great things for us every day
they whisper in our ears,
they even hold us in their hearts
when we are filled with all our fears.
They are always there to give a hug
and try to make us smile.
They treat us with respect and love,
they treat us like their child.
God blessed me with an Angel,
Im proud to call my own. 1
Shes been with me throughout my
life, been with me as Ive grown.
Shes guided me the best she can,
shes taught me like no other,
and Im thankful Im the lucky one
who gets to call her...MOTHER.
