Mason L. Boler, Jr., was born September 26th, 1936, in Augusta, Georgia to the late Mason Boler,
Sr. and the late Mary L. Boler.
Mason was a 1956 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School. He continued his education at Paine
College and graduated from the School of Culinary Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mason was the former Executive Chef of the Pinnacle Club of Augusta, Georgia. He was the
former owner and manager of Wife Saver Restaurant on Highland Avenue, Masons Restaurant on
Telfair Street and Masons Restaurant on Monte Sano Avenue.
In July of 1983, Mason was appointed by former Governor Joe Frank Harris to be the Tenth District
Representative of Georgias State Health Planning Review Board. In 1984, he was appointed by
Augustas former Mayor Charles DeVaney as the second Black member on the Downtown DeveT
opment Authority. He was a former member of the following organizations: Board of Directors of
the United Way, Board of Directors of the Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce, Board of Direc-
tors of the CSRA Business League and University of Georgias Bulldog Club.
Masons awards were many, including: Distinguished Award, National Business League, 1978; Busi-
nessman of The Year - 1975/1976, Central Savannah River Area; Business of The Month, May
1974, Central Savannah River Area; Minority Business of The Year, 1987; and Outstanding Busi-
nessman and Champion for Equality Award, January 2001.
He was a member of Servants of God Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board.
Mason L. Boler, Jr. leaves a legacy of love and memories to: wife, Anita Boler; children, Miriam
Boler Cheney, Brenda (George) Clark, both of Atlanta, Georgia, Marcella Murray, Charone Boler-
Law and Marion (Willie Mae) Boler; grandchildren, Corey Boler, Newnan, Georgia, Marian Boler,
Brandi Clark, Branden Clark, Tori Cheney and Derrell Cheney, all of Atlanta, Georgia, Paris Boler,
Crystal Boler, Will Law, V, Ryan Wesley Law, Ashley Murray and Terra Murray, all of Augusta,
Georgia, Danielle Robinson and Davida Robinson; great-grandchild, Kaiya Lanita Boler, Newnan,
Georgia; siblings, Mildred Ward, Evelyn (Wallace) Grubbs, Lillie Mae Ford, Myrtis (Charlie) Madi-
son, Olivia Boler and Richard (Annette) Boler, all of Augusta, Georgia, David Boler, Atlantic City,
New Jersey, Harold Boler, Crawford, Nebraska, Sylvester Boler, Lithonia, Georgia and Janice
(Charles) Turner, Atlanta, Georgia; Godchildren, John Thomas, Dallas, Texas and Kimberly Terry,
Augusta, Georgia; devoted friends, Betty Mack Johnson, Hattie Elam, Herbert Fryer, J. Victor Key,
James Hammonds and Charles Sanders; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
sorrowing friends.

Through Our Fathers Eyes
Through our fathers eyes, we know that youll see the man we knew
our father to be. He was a father who sought to please his children. He
was always there; no matter what the need may have been. When we
looked into our fathers eyes, we knew the need would be met. For us,
he was a Christian Guide. Often hed remind us, let the Bible help you
to abide. Weve been very blessed to have had him sent our way, from
the beginning until the very last day. The shoes our father wore, no one
will ever be able to fill. It was a pair that takes rare time to build.
Weve come today to say farewell and to share how much he influenced
our lives. We hope that you, too, can better understand and appreciate
our reasons for having seen life THROUGH OUR FATHERS EYES!
