- NO REPAST -
And so it is true of the life of Wayne Daryl Blount, born on December 3], 1960, the second son of the late Thomas and Laura Mae Blount. On the evening of December 13, 2019, just a few days short of his 59th birthday, Wayne transitioned to his eternal home.
At an early age, Wayne accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Cumming Grove Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia. Throughout his childhood and youth, he attended Sunday School, was a member of the H. B. Bady Chorus and participated in various church programs and activities. In his adult years, his personal relationship with the Lord continued to grow within his heart.
Wayne was educated in the public schools of Richmond County. After graduating from Westside High School, he attended Paine College in an effort to further his education. After various employment endeavors, he and his father became business entrepreneurs and co-founded The Blount's Barbershop. To Wayne, this was not solely his career, but his passion.
Living out this scripture, Wayne used his gifts and talents to be a blessing, not only to his clients who came for a service, but to the community at large. Each year he offered complimentary "Back to School" haircuts to those who were in need and after school employment for the male youth. His God-given talent, wide smile, and strong spirit have left a long-lasting imprint on the hearts of his family and community.
As a young man, Wayne married Bridgett Allen and to this union three children were born: Shateria, Shamel, and Ashley. After the dissolution of the marriage, he was blessed with two more daughters: Victoria and Briana. Wayne doted on the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and he truly loved them all.
Wayne was preceded in death by his loving parents, Thomas E. Blount and Laura Mae Blount. Those who remain to cherish his memory include his children: Shateria (Robert) Patterson, Shamel (Tarajsah) Blount, Ashley Blount, Victoria Blount, and Briana Blount; five grandchildren: Landon Blount, Chance Blount, Rylie Blount, Dash Patterson, and Harlow Patterson; brother: Elvin R. Blount; aunt: Frances T. Alexander; uncle: Richard Davis; nephew: Reginald E. Blount; the Wylie, Tutt, and Garnett Families; and a host of cousins, neighbors, and friends who are all saddened by his passing.
The family of Wayne Blount acknowledges with sincere appreciation the comforting
messages, floral tributes, and other expressions of kindness during this time of bereavement. May
God bless you.
