On February 17, 2021, God called home a faithful _ servant from labor to reward.
LESSIE MAE BENNETT was born January 13, 1931, in Wilkes County to Henry and. Lizzie Tate. She was educated in Wilkes County. She was married to Walter E. Bennett, Sr. and to this union six children were born. Lessie joined St. John's Baptist in Danburg, Georgia at an early age. She was a member of Christ Fellowship Church, where she was also the Mother of the church.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Walter E. Bennett, Sr.; son, Walter E. Bennett, Jr.; two brothers, Tom Tate and Norris Tate; three sisters, Thelma Mason, Ida Lee Payne and Evelyn Levertte;
two granddaughters, Shante White and Miranda
Bennett; and great granddaughter, Pisgah White.
She leaves a legacy of memories: sons, Richard A. (Bahai) Bennett, Boston Massachusetts, First SGTUA retired, Edwin C. Bennett, Augusta, Georgia and Henry T. (Maria) Bennett, Sr., Rock Hill, South Carolina; daughters, Freda A. Gordon
and Lois E. Graham of Augusta, Georgia; sister,
Effie Williams of Asheville, North Carolina;
daughter-in-law, Marshall Bennett; grandchildren,
Yolanda Triesdale, Henry Bennett, Jr, Dr. Ashely Bennett, Jermaine Bennett, Ashton Bennett, RaShawn Bennett, Clayton Bennett, Matthew Bennett, Paris Parks, Akila Parks and Trinty
Graham; step grandchildren, Julian, Brittany, Drucilla, and Azalee Mayes; thirteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
