OBITUARY
To one who bore the sweetest name,
And added a luster to the same,
Who shared our joys, who cheered when sad,
One of the greatest friends we ever had;
Peace to her, but theres no other
Who can take the place of our mother.
Your Loving Children
On Wednesday night, July 22, 1987, at 11:00 oclock p.m., the Angel
of Silence came into the room of Sister Sadie Mae Corker Allen,
Waynesboro, Ga., and sealed the lips of Sister Allen from her earthly labor
to reward. We love her dearly, but God loved her best.
Sister Sadie Allen, a retired homemaker, was born March 11, 1919, in
Burke County, Waynesboro, Ga. She was the loving daughter of the late
Charlie Corker and Ida Jackson. At an early age, she was converted, bap-
tized and joined the Fellowship Baptist Church. She was dedicated to her
family, friends and community. She will be greatly missed by all who knew
her and appreciated her friendship. She always carried a smile and a cheerful
joy wherever she went. Sister Sadie Allen was also a member of the UBA
Society, Friendship Lodge No. 528, Zion Chapter No. 42 of Order of the
Eastern Star and Fleroines of Jericho Lodge No. 223.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late James Allen Sr., December
2, 1934. She then joined the Grays Grove Baptist Church and served
faithfully with her husband. To this union were born 13 children; three of
which preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five sons and their wives, Mr. Otis
C. Allen and wife Theresa Allen of Tampa, Fla., Mr. James Allen Jr. and
wife Beatrice Allen of Queens, N.Y., Master Gunnery Sgt. Robert L. Allen
of Twenty Palms, Calif., Mr. Charles M. Allen and wife Jackie Allen of
Brooklyn, N.Y., and Mr. Billy R. Allen and wife Beverly Allen of
Waynesboro, Ga.; five daughters, Mrs. Pauline Allen Chandler of Edison,
N.J., Miss Margaret Allen of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Arethalia Allen Oliver
and husband George Oliver of Brooklyn, N.Y., Miss Carole Allen of
Brooklyn, N.Y., and Miss Brenda S. Allen of Triangle, Va.; one brother
and sister-in-law, Mr. Eugene Corker and wife Annie G. Corker; five
brothers-in-law and wives, Mr. Calloway Allen and wife Sofia Allen of
Augusta, Ga., Mr. John Willie Allen of Greensboro, S.C., Mr. Joshua Allen
and wife Viola Allen of Savannah, Ga., Mr. Bennie Allen of Savannah,
Ga., and Mr. Charlie Smith of Augusta, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews; a special friend,
Sister Alberta Roberson; and a special cousin, Ann Burton.
SPECIAL TRIBUTE FROM THE GRANDCHILDREN
As much as our hearts do sadly yearn for one more glimpse of grand-
mas smiling face which is now filled with Gods amazing grace; with Gods
redeemed there is no death; its only passing through the valley with Jesus
to live forever more. We love grandma but the Lord had a need of her
in glory.

Church Cemetery
Sweet by thy rest
And peaceful thy slumber
Gods way is best
Thou art in His keeping
Sweet be thy rest.
Why do we mourn departed friends
And shake at deaths alarm?
Tis but the voice that Jesus sends
To take them in His arms
This is just another soldiers gone,
To get the just reward.
She has fought the fight
She was kept the faith.
And now she has gone home to God.
