Mr. Robert L (Bob) Alien, son of the late Sophie Allen, was bom July 20, 1943.
At a very early age, he was converted and baptized at Union Baptist Church in Barnwell, South Carolina.
He was faithful member until his death.
His early education began in Barnwell, South Carolina. After moving to Augusta, Georgia, his education
continued at Lucy C. Laney High School. He was a 1960 graduate of Lucy C. Laney.
He retired from Liquid Carbonics Corporation as a transportation technician.
On September 4, 1975, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Gwendolyn D. Fletcher. To this union two
children were bom; Kenesha Nicole and Kenneth Maurice. He gave to his family the warmth, love and
happiness that they will cherish for a life time. His loving, quiet, humble, unassuming manner endeared
him to his family and friends in no uncertain terms.
On Wednesday, October 26,1994, he departed this life at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.
Robert L. "Bob" Allen leaves to mourn his passing: his devoted wife, Mrs. Gwendolyn Fletcher Allen;
two daughters, Miss Anita Francais Allen, Washington, DC and Miss Kenesha Nicole Allen, Augusta,
GA; one son, Mr. Kenneth Maurice Allen, Augusta, GA; one brother, Mr. James Allen, Atlantic City, NJ;
two aunts, Mrs. Cleo Allen, Augusta, GA and Mrs. Ida Keith, Newark, NJ; three uncles, Mr. and Mrs.
General Allen, Rev. and Mrs. Joseph Allen of Chicago, EL and Mr. Daniel Allen, Allendale, SC; one
great-uncle, Mr. Roosevelt Hay, Barnwell, SC; one great-aunt, Mrs. A. Hay, Barnwell, SC;
mother-in-law, Mrs. Annie Maude Fletcher, father-in-law, Mr. Frank Fletcher, Bamesville, GA, two
sisters-in-law, Mrs. Robertina Fletcher, Warner Robins, GA and Mrs. Heather Allen, Atlantic City, NJ;
one brother-in-law, Donnie F. Fletcher, Warner Robins, GA; three godchildren, Tyrone J. Murphy,
Marvin D. Cooper, and Ahmad R Cooper, all of Augusta, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
