October 13, 1903 in Saluda, South Carolina.
Education:
Attended Paine College, Augusta, Georgia.
Family:
Married to the late Felicia S. Abney, July 13, 1941.
Survived by a sister, Laura Watson ofLos Angeles, CA; a niece, Gloria
Porter and a nephew, Everett E. Abney both of Atlanta, GA; eleven
other nieces and nephews from out-of-state; a sister-in-law, Bunice P.
Blocker of Augusta, GA; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Pratt of
Chicago, Illinois.
Profession:
Insurance Agent with Gavananty Insurance Co.,
Youth Leader at Bethlehem Community Center and at the Youth
Development Center of Augusta, GA.
Church Affiliations:
A member of Trinity Christian Methodist
Episcopal Church of Augusta, GA, serving for many years as Sunday
School Superintendent, a Teacher and a Steward.
Other Affiliations:
Member of the Ambassadors Club.
Departed this life Wednesday, September 16, 1987 at the University Hospital, Augusta, GA, leaving family and friends to mourn his passing.
