Dear Ben
Your letter received this morning and was glad to hear that Albert is better, also am glad to hear that Ruth is Moving up to Macon In regard to Bessie Smith she was supposed to wire me Monday and she sia dthat [said that] she would play in the school house [schoolhouse], I want her the week of the 5th because I am not going to do anythigng [anything] that week as I am having a tent show and would like to play her that week, I am having the show that I have this week for next week also, so if you know where she is get in touch with her and let me know, and if I cant play her on percentage I dont want her to come in, In regard to the vaudeville and boxing, you work that out and do the best, things here have been mighty tough, altho [although] I have done better with the road show if I had not had it, have at least made expenses so far the ritz opened with a bang but cooled off quite a bit since then, when you ever have a miss out or any other thing from picture concern, let me know about it before you write, I am going to Jax [Jacksonville] Sunday for the day and will be in Macon Sunday week and will go to atlanta from there; The show is out and am tired so will close with love;
