- Letter from escape artist M. Martinelli to Charles Henry Douglass, African American entrepreneur and owner of the Douglass Theatre, regarding a possible show at the Douglass Theatre. The letterhead features a photograph of Martinelli in chains and an advertisement for his act, which includes driving blindfolded for street advertising. Martinelli announces that he will be in Macon, Georgia next week and asks Douglass if he can use his act. He advises Douglass to advertise that Martinelli is coming but not to set a date. Martinelli expresses his hope that Douglass is well and mentions that in his new act, he escapes from a vault.
