- Letter from Gordon Boney of Gordon Boney Attractions to the Exhibitor of the Douglass Theatre, probably Ben Stein, owner and manager of the Douglass Theatre from 1927 to 1929, dated October 28, 1927, regarding films available from Associated Negro Picture Distributors. Boney announces that he is distributing pictures in North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida for Associated Negro Picture Distributors. He advertises that the casts of his pictures are composed entirely of "colored players" and that "colored exhibitors" should realize that these pictures will make more money for them than other pictures. Boney claims that they are releasing the pictures at a reasonable price despite their money-making potential. He assures the prospective client that the prints are new and in good condition and that they will supply the best of service. Boney notes that he has enclosed a list of available films [not included with this document] and requests that the prospective client respond regarding films of interest. In the postscript, Boney notes that he is distributing Oscar Micheaux's 1924 film, Birthright. The film starred J. Homer Tutt, Evelyn Preer, and Salem Tutt Whitney.

I am now distributing in North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida the following pictures for the Associated Negro Picture Distributors.
We hope you will bear in mind that these pictures are colored players productions exclusively. In other words the cast are entirely made up of colored people.
Every colored exhibitor must realize that this type picture will make him more money than any other. But still we are releasing these pictures at a very reasonable price.
We also wish to call to your attention that our prints are all new and kept in first class condition. And we assure you the best of service at all times.
I am enclosing a list of these pictures that are now availiable [available] and if you will advise us the number of pictures you would be interested in and which they would be, we will be glad to tell you what the rental price would be. Awaiting your reply, we are
