Dear Smith:

Receipt of yours of recent date, I acknowledge, and regret that I cannot accept your renewed offer of $75.00 for the "Millionaire."

I am, however, ordering the paper sent to you at approximately half-price, that is, about $12.00 less than the invoice, which is a split in the difference in what you offer and which we demand. I trust this will prove satisfactory and close the matter as we will not do any better on a picture of this kind which is worth a great deal more than we are accepting.
OM/EA

Very truly,
[Signed] MICHEAUX FILM CORPORATION]
