GENERAL INFORMATION
PASSENGERS ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK IN AT AIRPORT TEN MINUTES BEFORE FLIGHT DEPARTURE.
All service is subject to rules and regulations contained in Tariffs on file with the Civil Aero-
nautics Board, copies are open for public inspection in any Northwest Airlines Office.
Reservations: Reservations for all flights must be made in advance.
Passengers must re-confirm all reservations for return flights or for continuing flights after
a stopover of 1 2 hours or more by calling the airline office at the return or each stop-
over point at least six hours prior to scheduled departure of their flight. Reservations
which have not been re-confirmed within that time will be cancelled.
Round trip tickets within U. S. and Canada are valid for 4 months. Elsewhere for 1 year.
Childrens fares; One child under 2 , not occupying seat or berth, free with each adult fare
on services within U.S. and Canada and to Alaska. 10% of adult fare on services to Hawaii
and Orient. Children under 2 for whom seat or berth is reserved and all children 2 and under
1 2 half fare.
Baggage: Includes all luggage such as brief cases, portfolios, packages and parcels, type-
writers, camera equipment and similar articles, either carried in the cabin or checked. Articles
such as overcoats, umbrellas and cameras will not be included in baggage weights.
Baggage Allowance: 40 lbs. when travelling within U.S. and Canada and 66 lbs. when
travelling to or from Alaska, Hawaii or Orient. There is a charge of '/^ of I % of one way
fare per pound or 1 % per kilo, minimum 25c, for excess baggage.
Valuation: Not to exceed $1 00.00 unless excess declared. Excess chargesU.S. and Canada
1 Oc per $1 00.00, limit $2500. ElsewhereI 5c per $1 00.00, limit $5000.
Schedules: Subject to change without notice.
Stopovers: Are permitted at most regularly scheduled stops if arrangements are made in
advance.
Airport Transportation: Transportation between airports and designated pick-up points
will be arranged, subject to usual charges.
Air Taxi Service: This service is available at many airports to off-line points at reasonable
rates. Companies operating this service are members of the National Air Taxi Conference.
Call any Northwest Airlines office for information.
Taxes: Taxes are in addition to the fares published.
Responsibility for Departures, Arrivals, Connections: Northwest Airlines shall not be
responsible for the failure of aircraft to depart or arrive on scheduled time or failure to make
connections. Passengers are requested to be at the airport loading gate at least ten minutes
before scheduled departure. Listen for the flight departure announcements. Passengers will
not be paged individually by name since we cannot jeopardize the connections of all other
passengers to locate one who is late.
Holiday Cancellation: Certain flights will be subject to cancellation on most national holidays.
Consult any Northwest Airlines ticket office for further information.
