- Description:
- Louie Clark recounts his WWII experiences. He was drafted in May 1943 serving in the U. S. Navy on the destroyer USS Haynsworth DD 700. Mr. Clark served during Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Formosa and Luzon campaigns. On April 6, 1945 his ship was hit by a kamikaze plane. Mr. Clark also recounts being on a ship that escorted the Queen Mary with Winston Churchill on board back to England.
