Description:
"NAC dance instructor Sharon Mitchell enjoying time with children in the park at the NAC pavilion"--Jim Alexander's annotations.
Drummers perform at the Neighborhood Arts Center pavilion during the Piedmont Arts Festival held May 1979 in Atlanta. Neighborhood Arts Center dancer-in-residence Sharrone Mitchell and some of her young students dance on the pier in front of the pavilion. Sharrone Mitchell danced and taught dance at the Neighborhood Arts Center from May 1979 until October 1980, when she left to join a production at the Alliance Theater. During the Piedmont Arts Festival, the Neighborhood Arts Center held workshops and demonstrations, and poet-in-residence Jim Lee read for the Atlanta Writer's Council.
