In the small town of Batesville, Mississippi, Durmon Z. and Mary Jackson were blessed by God
wi~h the birth of the fourth of six children. His name was ABRAHAM, born on November
22, 1918. Seeking a better life, the family moved to Chicago in 1923.
Still being blessed by th~ Lord, he was baptized in 1930 by his father, the late D.Z. Jackson.
Abraham attended Forrestville Elementary and DuSable High School; Morehouse College; Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
In the year of 1944 he married the late Harriett Coskrey. They were blessed with two sons: Darrell and Duane. On April12, 1951 he was elected Pastor of Liberty I3apt~t Church.
Pastor spent 43 active years in the church and lived the life God's Holy Word required of one who had a committed life in Christ. Through the vicissitudes of life, he was never too busy, always finding time to listen. A believer in prayer, love, hope, and tolerance, he recommended them all to family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who crossed his path.

TRAVELS: Europe, Mid-East Oerusalem, Israel), India, Haiti.
He encountered blossoms of happiness and joy, one of which was manifested in the marriage to Lady Elizabeth in 1966. God granted a special desire and added to this union, two daughters: Gloria and Jasmine.
Pastor Jackson made his transition from this life of uncertanity into everlasting joy, peace, and tranquility on Sunday, July 3, 1994 at 12:35 p.m.~ EHS Trinity Hospital. He was cared for by his much loved and devoted physicians, Dr. Clyde Phillips and Dr. Jacques Fourcand; Chris and the entire Michael Reese CSU. "Abe", "Big Pops", "Poppy", "Dad", "Daddy", "Honey", "Pastor" as he was affectionately called by most, leaves to celebrate life and to cherish his fond memory: his devoted wife, Lady Elizabeth; his two sons: Dr. Duane (Dr. Fleda), Pastor Darrell (Michele); two daughters: Gloria and Jasmine; five grandchildren: Kimya and Kyree Jackson, Maurice Jackson, Robbie McDavid and Matthew Abraham Rago; two sisters: Allene (Pearl) Johnson and Galeda (Albert) Bums; sister-in-law, Lucille Jackson; brother-in-law, Eugene (Tina); and godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and many lifelong truly loving friends.
