Odessa Elizabeth Peters .Allen was born in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia on July 10, 1922 to parents, \Villie and Odessa Sykes Peters. She was the fifth child of eleven children and was named after her mother. She is the last of the Peters' legacy. She received her education in .1. tlanta public school system and attended Walker Street School.
Odessa met the love of her life, the tall, lean and handsotne, Richard Louie .Allen, Sr. of Fayetteville, Georgia. They were married in April 1942 after Richard returned from serving in World War II. The Aliens were proud parents of four \VO rful children, Betty J . .Allen, ancy Allen (Winn), Richard Louie Allen, Jr. and Gloria lien (Taylor). In 1967, Richard passed a\vay leaving Odessa to rear these four children.
Odessa's Family grew \vith the addition of four grandchildren, Hope Allen, Quentin .Allen, I<ristie Allen and Daphne Taylor. Three great-grandchildren, Qua, Miya and De'Ricka.
As a homemaker she ensured her children were taken care of and received nourishment \-vith her cooking of three meals daily. Her specialty were S\veet potato pies and fried fruit pies. Her hobbies and interests were singing (Gospel and Line Note), fishing, gardening, travel and bingo.
Odessa was known to most who knew her as "Mama \lien" he was the "Community 1other" in "The Historic Pittsburg Community" in Sou est Atlanta. Her home was the athering place for all the friends of the .Allen children. She made fried pies, Oa 1 al cookie~. 1 dogs, roasted peanuts and popcorn for them.

Odessa joined Rising Star Baptist Church at an early age. In April2004, she tnoved her membership to The Elizabeth Baptist Church; Reverend Dr. Craig L. Oliver Sr. is her Pastor. She truly loved her pastor.
During the 2010 Presidential election she voted ab entee ballot for Senator Barack Obama for president and for his re-el ction as president 2014. During the 2016 Presidential election she voted absentee ballot for Hillary Clinton.

Father's Dqy, June 15, 1947, was the bestgift she gave to our Father, Betty came along and that's when it started. Det:ember 1, 1948, then came Nanry, the se(ond that was so very fanry.
