She was the fifth child of eleven children and was named after her mother. She is the last of the Peters' legacy. She received her education in .1. tlanta public school system and attended Walker Street School. Odessa met the love of her life, the tall, lean and handsotne, Richard Louie .Allen, Sr. of Fayetteville, Georgia. They were married in April 1942 after Richard returned from serving in World War II. The Aliens were proud parents of four \VO rful children, Betty J . .Allen, ancy Allen (Winn), Richard Louie Allen, Jr. and Gloria lien (Taylor).
