- Smiley Jones recounts his WWII experiences as gunnery naval personnel guarding merchant marine supply boats from Iceland to Murmansk, Russia. He also served as gunnery support on ships transporting soldiers from England to Italy and bringing wounded soldiers from Italy to England. He saw duty in South America and Trinidad.
