Description:
Abstract: Allen Thomas and Tedi Light talk about some of the memorable oral history interviews in the Allen Thomas collection. They discuss Thomas' history and experience living and working as the Clerk of the Court for Laurens County (a position he started in 1984). Thomas discusses taking on the organization of the vast collection of historical legal documents, which he abstracted and published into two, award-winning books. He gives details on the types of records he included, his opinion on their significance to history, how he organized them, and the assistance offered by the Laurens County Library to house and digitize them.
