- Abstract: In an interview on December 20, 1978, Mrs. Nina Nobles Tyre walks Mr. Allen Thomas through a family scrapbook and photo album, discussing family history. She talks especially about the military service of her sons, John Lawrence and William Craig ("Bill") Tyre, who served in WWII, her husband in WWI, and their grandfathers in the Civil War. She talks some about her childhood and meeting her husband and her regrets of not finishing school. Synopsis: Tyre talks about the military service of three generations of her family, including her husband, sons, and both her and her husband's grandfathers. | Tyre talks Thomas through pictures in a family photograph album. Photographs include pictures of a church in Wrightsville and other locations across Laurens County, to a photo dedicated to her son John L. taken during his service in World War II. | Tyre talks about her husband's grandfather, Calvin Tyre, and her education as a schoolteacher. She discusses meeting her husband and a little of their lives, but the tape is interrupted as she talks about the birth of her son, John L.
