- Description:
- Postcard (color, linen textured, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) titled – Yahnundasis Golf Club, Utica, New York. In 1897, a select group of Utica community leaders sought to build a private golf club that would provide a few hours of tranquility
an escape from the world. The result was Yohnundasis Golf Club, a 6,765 yard championship layout that was designed by famed architect Walter J. Travis. Travis was also the 1900, 1901 and 1903 U.S. Amateur Golf Champion, and the 1904 British Amateur Champion. He knew his game and his terrain, and conscientiously carved a magnificent golf course into the natural environment. Yahnundasis means "Around the Hill". No descriptive text on reverse. Postage required: one cent. Card number 64325. - Metadata URL:
