- Postcard (color, divided back 3 ½ x 5 ½ inches) titled – That moss-covered bucket, I hailed as a treasure For often at noon when returned from the field, I found it the source of an exquisite pleasure, The purest and sweetest that nature can yield. This postcard depicts a well and bucket in a field. It has a watercolor-like appearance. It was published by F. A. Owen Co. of Dansville, NY. Frederick Augustus Owen was born near South Danville, NY in 1867 and educated at Rogersvile Seminary. In 1889, he started a correspondence school for teachers. In 1891, he began publishing Normal Instructor, a magazine to aid the students in his correspondence school. Over time, this publication turned in Instructor magazine with a circulation of over 250,000 copies. The success of the magazine necessitated larger printing facilities which became F. A. Owen Co. in 1901. No descriptive text on reverse.
