- Postcard (color, embossed, divided back, 3 ½ x 5 ½ inches) titled Yale – This postcard features an illustration by F. Earl Christy of a beautiful college girl waving a Yale pendant. F. Earl Christy (1882–1961) was a prolific American artist whose turn-of-the-century work often focused on Ivy League college life, mainly football games and the well-dressed women who attended them. His first “College Girl” postcard series was published in 1905
the first image in the following gallery is from a 1907 collection created while Christy, a Philadelphia native, was a student at the Pennsylvania Academy of Arts. Christy also created art for calendars, collectible plates, mugs and even linens. No descriptive text on reverse. Postage affixed: green Franklin one cent stamp.
