- Description:
- Postcard (color, white border, linen textured, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) titled 20-Palm Lined Highway U. S. 17 Near Savannah, Ga. - U.S. Route 17 or U.S. Highway 17, also known as the Coastal Highway, is a north–south United States Highway that spans in the southeastern United States. It appears to be close to the Atlantic Coast for much of its length. The highway's southern terminus is at Punta Gorda, Florida, at an intersection with US 41. Text on reverse: Palm Lined Highway U. S. 17 Near Savannah, Georgia. The beautiful scenes of the palm-lined is located just north of Savannah, Georgia. The ever changing scenery on this highway is of much interest to this part of the country. Unusual looking are the Spanish moss draped pine and oak trees found all along the highway here. Postage affixed – 2 cent John Adams stamp. Postmarked 1954.
