- Postcard (Tinted color, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) titled 38- Edinburgh Castle, Banqueting Hall, Screen End, K. M. Office of Works – The Great Hall was completed in 1511 for King James IV. Its wooden roof is said to be one of the most superb in Britain. Giant beams rest on stones carved with heads and symbols such as the thistle – a badge of Scotland. The Office of Works was established in the English royal household in 1378 to oversee the building and maintenance of the royal castles and residences. No descriptive text on reverse.
