The SS Ariadne, originally the SS Patricia, was purchased by Hamburg Amerikanische Paketfahrt (HAPAG) in 1957. In November 1960, Ariadne was purchased by Miami-based Eastern Shipping Corporation where she was initially used by them on longer and more diverse cruises from Miami to the Caribbean and she became one of the first ships to sail to Cozumel, Quintana Roo in Mexico. In 1972, she was purchased by the Eastern Steamship Lines. She continued in operation under different names until 1997 when she was blown up in Alang, India. Text on reverse: Eastern Steamship Corp., Gen’l Agents – Pier 3 – Miami. Florida – 100% airconditioned – SS Ariadne – Cruises to the Caribbean from Miami.
