- Postcard (color, white border, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) titled: Buque De Guerra Chileno “La Torre” En Las Exclusas De Pedro Miguel, Canal De Panama – 86B – Chilean Battleship “La Torre” in Pedro Miguel Lock, Panama Canal. - This dreadnought battleship was Chile's entry into the South American naval arms race. Dreadnought battleship design had two revolutionary features: an "all-big-gun" armament scheme, with an unprecedented number of heavy-caliber guns, and steam turbine propulsion. The first dreadnought class battleship was produced in 1906 by the Royal Navy. Their production continued until the beginning of WWI. No descriptive text on reverse. Card number 99160.
