- Description:
- Postcard (sepia, linen texture, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) featuring an image of the Bok “Singing” Tower and Reflection Pool. The Singing Tower is a part of the Bok Tower Gardens, a National Historic Landmark that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, nationally significant for its association with Edward W. Bok and its designers. The carillon in the Tower has 60 bells ranging in weight from 16 pounds to nearly 12 tons. The instrument in Bok Tower was designed and built in 1928 by John Taylor Bellfoundry, Ltd. of Loughborough, England. Tower was sited at the highest elevation south of the reflection pool, so the water reflects its full image. Text on reverse: The Singing Tower from the North Lake Wales, Florida.
