- Postcard (color, linen texture, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) titled Lummus Park (A Recreational Center) and Downtown Miami, Florida 9. - Lummus Park was created in 1909 as one of Miami's first open, green spaces. The opening of the park in 1909, spurred development in the area. Most of the buildings around the park were built before 1926. On October 25, 2006, the park and the buildings on its northern boundary were added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places as Lummus Park Historic District. Text on reverse: Modern sky-scrappers rising from the heart of a tropical garden, such is the spectacle Miami affords. Lummus Park, a delightful tract of lawns, palms, and flowers are of the Recreation Centers with which Florida abounds, lies in the heart of the business center of Miami.
