- Postcard (color, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) titled Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans. The hotel originally opened in 1893 as the lavish Grunewald Hotel. In 1923, it was renamed The Roosevelt Hotel. It was devastated in 2009 by Hurricane Katrina. The hotel was restored and reopened in 2009. Text on reverse: You enter the beautiful lobby of the Roosevelt, a full city block long, and sign the register. You are ready to reign as a guest of one of the Nation’s finest hotels. Every modern concept of comfort has been added to the spacious rooms of the Roosevelt.
