- Postcard (color, linen textured, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) titled 5 – Terminal Station, Macon, GA. - The railroad station was built in 1916 in the Beaux Arts style. It is included on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of Macon’s Historic District. After nearly 60 years of service, the station closed in 1975. In 2002, the City purchased the Terminal station and renovated it in 2014. Text on reverse: Macon was the birthplace of the famed southern poet, Sidney Lanier. Wide streets, more than 500 acres of public parks with ample trees and colonial architecture, make Macon a typical city of the Deep South, worthwhile visiting. Postage required – 1 cent stamp.
