- Page of program for an event commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education and desegregation in education. Part of the event included the 97th John A. Sibley Lecture at the University of Georgia School of Law, given on April 7, 2004 by Chester C. Davenport, the first African American graduate of the UGA School of Law. Other speakers and panelists at the event included UGA Law professor Larry Blount, Judge Robert Benham, Georgia's first African American Supreme Court justice, Sharon Tucker, UGA Law's first African American female graduate and law professor at Albany State University, and Judge Horace T. Ward, the first African American student to challenge the racially discriminatory practices at the University of Georgia School of Law and the first African American to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
