- School of Law advocacy teams boast strong performances Tuesday, October 23, 2018 School of Law teams finished as national finalists in two tournaments - the Palmetto State Classic Mock Trial Competition and the Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition - and as national quarterfinalists in the Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition during October. Third-year students Matthew Poletti, Shaudie Fassih, Shanice Echols and Spenser Clark finished as finalists in the Palmetto State Classic Mock Trial Competition. This quartet won the "Most Professional Team" award, and Fassih was named one of the best advocates in the preliminary rounds. In the national Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition, third-year students Eric Wilder and Garret Drogosch finished as finalists. Third-year law students Amy Buice and Chris Kelleher represented UGA in the Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition and completed the tournament as quarterfinalists. A special thanks goes to 2014 alumnus Jeremy B. Dailey and 1996 alumna Holly A. Pierson for coaching and traveling with the Palmetto State Classic and Billings, Exum & Frye teams, respectively.
