- In this series of WSB newsfilm clips from Atlanta, Georgia on December 18, 1968, the Rodeway Inn where the abduction of Barbara Jane Mackle occurred is shown.
The clip is divided into two segments, part one and b-roll. Part one begins with a shot of the Rodeway Inn, which is a two story brick hotel with exterior walkways. Cars are parked in the parking lot of the inn, and a sign in the foreground of the shot reads "Motel. Rodeway Inn." The clips cut to a shot of the inn from a different angle and some distance closer up. Next, the clips cut to a shot of the exterior doors and windows of two rooms on the first floor of the hotel. A black parked car sits in front of the door of the room on the right. There is another, closer up shot of only two doors, then the clips cut to a shot of an unidentified white male approaching a first floor door at the hotel and attempting to enter, but evidently finding it to be locked. The unidentified white male looks down the exterior breezeway of the motel toward a group of people standing in the distance. The man then enters the hotel room. The clips cut back to the previous shot of the two hotel room doors, and then to the shot of the exterior doors and windows of two rooms on the first floor of the hotel. Next, the clips cut to the parking lot of the hotel, where an unidentified white male walks toward the camera. The man stops behind the parked black car and takes a photograph of the hotel.
The second segment of the clip is b-roll, during which there is an exterior shot of the doors and windows of some first floor rooms of the hotel, along with the front end of a black car parked next to the doors. A tray is visible next to the door on the right, and the word "Firebird" is visible on the car. Next the clips cut to a shot of the black car from the front end, and then to a shot of the license plate of the car, which reads, "Florida. 1-8911. 68 Sunshine State 69." Then the clips cut to a close up shot of the tray on the ground. Tea cups and plates of partially eaten food are situated on the tray.
