- In this WSB TV newsflim clip from May 16, 1968, probably from Atlanta, Georgia, on December 4, 1967, Georgia Governor Lester Maddox comments on the indictment of five men by a Jackson County Grand Jury for the murder of Solicitor General of the Piedmont Circuit Floyd G. Hoard.
The clip begins with a shot of Governor Lester Maddox who is in front of a marbled wall. He says, "I believe it wraps it up so far as the investigation is concerned at this time. It certainly does not wrap it up, you don't wrap up a case until you apprehend and prosecute and, and if you have what it takes, the conviction or the acquittal, whatever is necessary. Then it's wrapped up." From off camera, an unidentified male reporter asks, "This completes the arrest?" Maddox responds, "I believe it does, I believe it makes a complete arrest so far as the apprehension is concerned, yes."
