- In this series of WSB-TV newsfilm clips from Dalton, Georgia, various grocery stores and suppliers are featured in the on-going price war surrounding milk. On Friday, May 12, 1967, the Fulton Superior Court ruled that the Georgia Milk Control Board use of price-fixing was unconstitutional, thus starting a price war. The clips begin with a sign: "Dalton City Limit." There are various shots of cars parked along the streets and in parking lots. Clips of signs include: "D & H Grocery, Coca-Cola"; "Nance/Happy Valley milk full gal. 39[cent symbol] with $10.00 order"; "Stafford's Food King" followed by "Washeteria; Dry Cleaning; Beauty Shop; Luncheonette; Dress Shop; Barber Shop"; bottom of Stafford's sign has "Mayfield milk 79[cent symbol] gal."; "Foodking"; "Dairyland"; milk cooler has handwritten sign "Mayfield milk [indistinct writing] 79[cent symbol]"; "Shopping your friendly Foodking food store"; and "Paramount Dairies, Inc. Dairy foods of excellence". Clips also include men totaling the orders for customers at the cash registers and putting the grocery items on the counters. The last set of clips show the cartons of milk in crates on conveyors moving to the loading area; men are loading the milk into the trucks.
