- In this series of WSB-TV newsfilm clips, Atlanta Housing Code inspectors examine the interiors and exteriors of housing in the Boulevard area of the Old Fourth Ward. There are several shots of the deteriorated conditions within the buildings and of the exteriors where there are abandoned and burn-out vehicles. The inspectors take notes while talking with several African American women regarding the number of occupants in some of the apartments, the condition of the apartments, and the lack of repairs by the property owners. Some shots include children playing outside by the cars, and in areas that completely lack any grass or living plants. Damages include missing louvers in the windows, doors that lack locks, infestations of cockroaches and rats, and piles of trash in the stairwells, hallways, and outside. In the final clip, the inspector asks about the electricity and needed other repairs. The unidentified African American woman says that there are no lights in her dining area or bathroom, and that the bolt on the door has fallen off, but the property owners has not returned to fix anything.
