- In this series of WSB-TV newsfilm cips, probably from between 1959 and 1965, Atlanta Police Department chief Herbert T. Jenkins and two unidentified white men interact with a police dog at the presentation of a commendation or award, probably in Atlanta, Georgia.
The first clip shows Chief Jenkins and two other unidentified white men, one dressed in a coat and tie and the other in a police uniform, seated at a table with a German shepherd police dog. The man in police uniform places a large cut of meat in a bowl in front of the dog.
In the next clip, the dog sniffs the meat while the man in police uniform watches.
The next clip shows Jenkins looking at a paper in his hand as the man in the coat and tie shakes the hand of the man in police uniform. The three men appear to be conversing.
In the next clip, the meat in the bowl is seen in front of the dog once again. The dog sniffs the meat.
The next clip shows the man in police uniform watching the dog.
In the next clip, the man in the coat and tie stands and takes a case from an inside pocket. He opens the case and presents it to the man in police uniform. This is probably a commendation or award given in connection with an action that also involved the dog.
The final clip shows the three men seated at the table with the dog once more.
