- In this series of silent WSB-TV newsfilm clips, there are multiple clips showing the damage as a result of the earthquake in Mexico City on the 28th of July, 1957. The opening 4 clips show debris and fallen walls covering the beds of trucks. the 5th clip shows a crane pulling a fallen wall away and people watching and helping. The next clip shows emergency personnel moving debris while people watch from the sidewalk near buildings. Next is a clip showing stacks of dishes and other salvaged materials. There are several clips of people clearing debris off collapsed buildings using shovels, their hands, and a block and cable rig. One clip shows an ambulance driving past marked "Servicios Medicos de Emergencia del Departamento del D.F. Ambulancia No. 8." The next clip shows nurses giving drinks to emergency personnel. The next clip shows how the military has roped off the work area with people on the sidewalk behind the rope. The next three clips are of the damage to the Monumento de la Independencia," also known as The Angel of Independence on the Paseo de la Reforma. The first of these show that the Winged Victory statue is missing from the top of the monument. The next pans down from the top to show broken pieces at the bottom. The final of these shots is of a large piece of the Winged Victory. The final shot of the series is similar to the first one, then pans to the side showing the collapsed building.
