- Description:
- In this series of WSB newsfilm clips from March 1, 1978, Larry Flynt is being interviewed by unidentified reporters in a Gwinett County, Georgia courtroom.
The clip is divided into three segments, part one and b-roll. Part one begins with an unidentified reporter asking Mr. Flynt about his obscenity charges in Gwinett County. Mr. Flynt indicates he is not happy about being prosecuted but hopes for a fair trial. He is then asked why he is willing to put everything on the line for a magazine. Flynt replies that it's about more than a magazine, it's about the principles that America was founded on. He then addresses how it's easier to defend himself now that he is a born again Christian. A comparison is made about the First Amendment giving people the right to reading material and the right to religion.
The second segment of the clip is b-roll, which is just a short closeup shot of Larry Flynt.
The third segment of the clip is more b-roll, during which Larry Flynt is interviewed more by the unidentified reporter. He talks about nudity and the human body is made by God and is not obscene. Next, he is asked about being born again. He says being born again means he has a new standard of morals.
