- Description:
- In this series of WSB newsflim clips from May 15, 1973, from Seminole County, Georgia, law enforcement officials are shown investigating the murders of the Alday family.
The series of clips begins with two separate shots of a two lane road with cars and trucks parked along the roadside. Next, there is a shot of a group of unidentified white males gathered in a grassy area beside the road. Some are kneeling or sitting on the grass and some are standing. Unintelligible conversations are heard. The next shot is of a road with trees on either side, and looks to be taken from the front windshield of a moving car. Then a group of unidentified men is shown walking through a wooded area toward the camera. The clip then cuts to a patch of sandy ground in an area which is sparsely populated with grass, plants and trees. An unidentified male voice is heard saying, "Alright, Shorty," from off-camera, as the camera pans ahead to focus on a group of unidentified men standing in a wooded area some distance away. Another unidentified male voice is heard saying something unintelligible from off-camera, and the first unidentified male voice responds, "Okay."
The clip then cuts to several cars which are parked in a grassy area. Unidentified people walk around the cars, and more unintelligible speech is heard from off-camera. The group of unidentified men in the wooded area is shown again, now from closer up.
Next, reporter Charles Harmon is seen standing in front of an ambulance which is parked in front of some trees. The back doors of the ambulance are open. Several unidentified people are lifting what appears to be a body onto a stretcher located on the ground behind the ambulance while one unidentified person takes photographs and two other unidentified men look on from several feet away. Harmon says, "Seminole County law enforcement officials have called in to the Division of Investigation and the State Crime Lab to help in the investigation. These deaths have shocked this community. Its also shocked the law enforcement agencies. From Seminole County, Charles Harmon, WSB News."
