Segment one: Christmas gathering, 0:00. Title screen: "DECEMBER 12th THRU DECEMBER 25th 1950." A Christmas tree decorated with tinsel, ornaments, and lights. A man sits in a chair with a box in his lap. A young girl hides behind a doll. Her mother sits next to her and smiles as she holds a pile of presents in her lap. People unwrap and show off their presents. There are boxes and paper all over the floor. Two babies hold their toys. A boy has a toy dog on a wire leash. Girls present their dolls to the camera. A man sits in a chair watching. The children walk around and play with their toys. An older boy holds a box. The Christmas tree. The girls dance with their dolls. A woman is playing the piano as they dance. A younger girl clutches her doll and watches, as do some of the other young children. A baby rolls a rattling toy. The toddler shows off her doll. She opens a cabinet. Meanwhile, the older girls are still dancing. An African American woman follows an elderly woman into the room. A woman puts all of the wrapping paper thrown on the floor into a box. The baby crawls over and starts pulling it out, one piece or ribbon at a time. She pulls the box toward her as she empties it. Her older sister is playing with cups on a shelf behind her. The baby climbs into the box, then struggles to climb out. On the side of the box "FROM SOUTHLAND COFFEE CO. ATLANTA, GA." Her sister is still lining up the cups. She shows an orange one to the camera. Segment two: Christmas morning, 3:49. Title screen: "IN FITZGERALD XMAS A M." Black slug. A young girl stands on the stairs looking happily at the room. She walks into the room by the fireplace and stops by it. She picks up a toy and her mother shows her what it does. She holds another toy and plays with a toy mixer. She opens a box with blocks that she can pull by a string. She looks around the room. She tries to move a doll. She opens her stocking and pulls out the goodies in it. Some nuts fall out of it. She blows on a tin horn. She starts putting everything from the stocking into a box. A balloon is inflated and has pretend shoes on it. A tin merry-go-round spins. She reads a book. A baby sits on the ground. Someone puts a baby doll in front of the baby. The baby plays with the toy mixer and some wooden rings. Someone throws a box onto a chair. An adult helps the baby open her stocking. She pulls objects out and looks at them when she is interested. One she puts in her mouth. They empty the rest of the contents, mostly nuts, into a box. A tin bear walks around. Some adults watch together from a nearby couch. A man walks into the room. A close up of the Christmas tree. A large group of presents sit under the tree waiting to be unwrapped. Black slug. Segment two: Children playing in a tent outside, 7:26. In the backyard, a toy tent is set up, which an girl and a boy run to and play in. The girl lays in the grass. The boy is dressed in a cowboy outfit and stands in the shadows of the tent as the girl rolls in the grass. They talk outside of the tent. She takes the stick he has. She lays in the grass, and he crawls out of the tent. They sit and play in the tent together. He poses in the yard.
