Description:

Black slug. Segment one: Mountain vacation, 0:07. Cars are parked on the side of the road as people stand on a stone overlook. Mountain ranges. View of the cars and mountains from the stone overpass. Water flows swiftly down a creek over rocks. Bare trees reflect in a lake. A mountain stands in the distance. A man lifts a small girl onto his shoulder while standing next to a canoe. The two of them and two other women wave at the camera. The man and girl bend down to pet a dog. The girl swims in the water to and from her father. A boy swims with an inflatable tube. The girl swings on a toy. She plays croquet in the yard. A group of children play London Bridge then leapfrog. Two girls apply make up to an older girl. A girl swims in the water. A man jumps off of a diving boards into the water. The girl swims to her mother. Someone swims gracefully under water. Waves crash on a beach. A girl drops sand into the waves. A car sits parked on the beach. A woman and the girl sit on rocks overlooking the water. The group watches a large ship go by. There are a lot of other people sitting and standing on the rocks to watch. Small boats bob along in the water. People walk back to where their cars are parked on the beach. The girl runs down a large hill made out of sand. She and her father play in the sand. She holds up a starfish. They walk into the water together. They swim together. The sunset is reflected on the water. It is yellow and orange and grey. Segment two: School and home, 8:21. The girl and her mother walk out of a house to their car. They get out on their way to a school building. Other children and adults are standing around outside. There is a flagpole in front of the building. The girl sits on a bench with her dog. She pets and plays with it. She practices curtsying and twirling in the yard. She dances around the grass. Segment three: Coastal vacation, 10:13. The camera overlooks water. A man sits on the corner of a concrete slab over the water. A girl directs a canoe toward the camera. She steers it around a lake. A white building blends in with the sand of the beach and has a gift shop and restaurant. Workers walk along the beach. People walk on pathways through palm trees. Two women and the girl sit together. Painted on a wall below the white hotel with green roofs, "HOTEL WHITEHALL PRIVATE BEACH." A dog plays in the water with a boy. Three girls play in the waves together. There is a large hotel being built on the beach. Cars and people dot the beach all the way to the pier. A group of four girls play in the waves together. The camera pans along a white building on the beach with fake horses outside of it. A man gets out of a car where he leaves two women. A car slowly rolls down the road lined by palm trees. Live oaks with Spanish moss hanging off them line a road. People sit at a table to dine overlooking the ocean. There are a couple of children at the table. An African American woman serves the family cheese and crackers. Waves roll toward the beach. The little girl at the table smiles at the camera. A water wheel under a shed turns. A large building with a pond and lounge chairs in front of it. Sign: "RUINS OF SUGAR VATS AND CHIMNEY, BUILT AND USED BY THE EARLY SPANISH SETTLERS 1570-1763." The water wheel turns through the water. A dog jumps up a palm tree. Two women and a man stand together before walking toward the camera. The little girl and boy from the table play in the sand together. A woman walks the girl out to the water. A man holds them in the water. Black slug. Segment four: Home, 17:23. A tree with blooming flowers outside a brick house. A young girl walks around outside. She plays with a baby carriage and a dog. There are small trees in a field. Flowers bloom on the trees. Flowers bloom on the ground as well. A house with a front porch and lots of plants. Large trees full of white blossoms. The city is across the field in the distance. Small flowerbeds line the walkway to the house. Segment five: Water skiing, 18:59. A man waterskis in a river behind a boat. He wipes out trying to get up. He tries to stand on his head and succeeds for a second. He's back to normal skiiing. Two men ski off the back of a boat down the river. They ski on one ski until one of them wipes out. There are four people in the boat. The skier goes to shore. Black slug. Segment six: The beach, 23:34. Two carts with sails attached to them sit on the beach next to a woman. She gets on one. Cars drive down the beach. A man pushes the young woman to get her started and she rides down the beach before getting stuck in water. She rides where the cars are driving. Two girls ride in a cart. Segment seven: Camp, 24:47. At a lake, women jump off of diving boards and do tricks. They practice diving. Other women sit on the dock watching them. Girls lounge on a dock by canoes. Girls in swimsuits stand in line. They stand on a dock and dive off it into the lake. They swim around and play in groups. Some of the girls jump off the diving boards. The camera films a group of the girls up close. They swim back to the dock and line up. Girls dive at the same time. A group of girls take a sailboat out on the lake. An older woman is in the foreground of the camera. Girls walk around outside of a cabin. Two run away from the camera. Eight or nine girls pile into a car. The group of girls walks through the woods. They sit overlooking the lake. People dive on the diving board. One girl is embarrassed by the camera, but the others all smile for it happily. They walk away and toward the camera while hanging on each other. Segment eight: Vacation in the West Indies and Mexico, 30:20. Mountains that stretch on through the haze. People stand on a scenic overlook. Mountains after mountains. Black slug. A group of women stand together smiling. Painted on a building "CARIBBEAN & WEST INDIES CRUISES GREAT WHITE FLEET." Women stand in bathing suits under a cabana on the beach. A little boy plays in the sand. A woman talks to the camera. A lot of the family members walk on the beach. They stand by the water. A boy tries to climb a palm tree. Three of the young women walk to the cabana. They are in front of an elaborate building. There is clear water flowing on to the beach. A line of cabanas. People swim in a pool. They sit in something together. Clouds sit low over the mountains. A train passes by slowly. They ride in a train on the side of a river. There are tall mountains on the other side. The clouds hang very low. People are in a canoe floating down the river. A girl shows off her dress. They ride past more mountains. He films the inside of the train. A woman washes clothing in the river. At a city with mountains in the background. A very tall fountain in the middle of a plaza. A cathedral sized church. Cars drive down the road. The family walks through a large building with marble. They stand on a balcony. There is an interior terrace. A diagram of the mountains and land in the distance. A man and his son walk across a garden. A building with many arches. Elaborate entrance to a building. A lake at the base of the tall mountain. There are other mountains and hills surrounding it. A house with many flowers. White and pink flowers. A parrot sits on an iron fence in a garden. The young woman walks out on a board on a dock followed by a boy and man. Two girls sunbathe on a boat. There are enormous rocks along the side of the water. People sit in them. A village on a mountain with thatched roof huts. The group walks through the village. Locals dance around in sombreros and play large maracas. The family watches behind a group of locals. Women carry items in baskets on their heads. They sit and stand in an open market area. They have food and other items set out. They men are still dancing inside a circle. They are very close to the base of the tall mountain. Two men stand in a wooden boat that they take out onto the lake. The lake stretches to the mountain. People carry heavy loads of jugs and other objects on their backs up a poorly made cobblestone road. A baby sits on the ground and drinks from a jug. Another baby and a girl stand against a wall. People stand around a fountain. Women buy flowers from a little boy. Sign: "Mejoral." People walk down the street. A man herds a family of pigs down the street. A woman tastes some food that is cooking. People wave incense in front of a large white church. A man measures out corn or grain to sell. They walk through the market area. A large arch leads into the main city. Someone gives a boy a coin. A barber shop is set up in the street. A man plays an instrument and a child in traditional dress dances around with a maraca. He is joined by others. The boy from the group joins them. People light candles on the side of the street at night. People sit in the doorway overlooking the landscape. The large mountain across the lake. Views of the landscape. Sign: "HOTEL CALIFORNIA." A family walks out of the Hotel California. At the beach, they walk into the ocean with their clothes on and try not to get wet. The men have their pants rolled up. People work on large boats in the water. The waves crash on the beach. A house with arched windows. A boy stands under a thatched roof. A dome can be seen in the distance through an arch. A Mayan symbol carved into stone. The Chichen Itza pyramids. There are ruins of columns on the hills nearby. A young man and woman stand at the ends of the ruins. More ruins can be seen through the trees in the distance. Some of the ruins are shaped like dragons. The family walks carefully down the stone stairs. They tap on the stone. There is a carved person. They climb up the stone steps toward the top of the pyramid. A car sits in the grass below. From above the tree tops, other ruins and temples can be seen nearby. Inside, the walls are all made of stone. They walk back down carefully. They stand in the ruins of a ball game field. They stand above a muddy pond. Down the path from the pyramid. Looking at a sculpture carved into the side. Across a field from El Caracol at Chichen Itza. There are carvings all around the building. Some steps lead to the top of a temple that is no more.
