Description:: Black slug. Segment one: Christmas, 0:18. Wrapped Christmas presents are laid out on the floor. Family members sit around a table together. A boy picks up a stack of presents. At the table, various family members open presents. Their African American maid joins them in opening presents. The children bring the presents to people to open. A large present blocks the view of the grandmother. There is a small Christmas tree decorated with tinsel and ornaments. The grandmother sits in a chair. Two boys play with the toys they received and make faces for the camera. An older woman picks up trash. One of the boys shows his dummy to the camera. There are small drums on top of the television. An older boy smiles for the camera, then plays the small drums. He waves again after he finishes, then continues playing. Black slug. "Babe Ruth" candy bars sit in a glass dish on the coffee table by the small drums. The Christmas tree with tinsel and ornaments is shown again. The boys play with more toys. Black slug. Segment two: Baseball, 5:26. A lot of boys in baseball uniforms are gathered together outside. Their parents are there, too. People in uniforms walk by the camera with flags at the beginning of what looks to be a parade. Cars follow. After the first few cars, the cars are filled with the boys in their baseball uniforms. They lean out the windows and wave their caps. One car has a sign: "Better Maid." Another has a sign: "A.S.C." A couple of boys wave to the camera in a dirt lot with cars in it. Segment three: YMCA Trip, 6:48. A person walks out the door, onto a porch, and down the stairs. Children get onto a bus with "YMCA" on the front. People are walking around a dirt area with cars and parents. There is also a dog. Two boys pet the dog. The side of the bus says "YMCA ATHENS GEORGIA." Parents, mostly women, stand watching them board the bus. Once they are all boarded, the bus leaves. Segment four: Trip to North Georgia, 7:59. The camera films three boys sitting at the top of a scenic overlook area. There are mountains and valleys in the background. The boys smile and wave for the camera. The camera films the view and one of the boys gets in the way. They sit in rocking chairs next to a stone wall. A woman and two boys sit on the wall, and the two boys jokingly swing their knives at each other. It gets somewhat dark, and the boys help fix a car. The three boys walk in front of a sign: "WALASIYI INN ROOMS AND MEALS WALASIYI INN APPALACHIAN TRAIL ELEVATION 1,235." They have big backpacks on and pose by the sign. It also includes "HOW MEALS STEAKS COUNTRY HAM." The boys continue posing by the sign. Black slug. Segment five: Vacation, 10:35. The grandmother walks around for the camera by a pool at a hotel. The two boys are with her. The mother and grandmother pose by a sign: "FORT FREDERICA NATIONAL MONUMENT VISITOR CENTER." The words on the bottom of the sign are too small to read. One of the boys points to a sign: "Frederica." It is too dark to read any more of it. The camera pans through the grass and trees to show the pathway to the fort. The boys are at a cannon by the water. They then walk toward the fort itself. The camera shows the landscape around the fort, as well as the fort. One of the boys comes runnnig toward the camera as the other walks behind. Segment six: Boy scouts, 12:52. Boys in uniforms mess around outside. One runs into a building and brings a large roll of something or a bag back out. It looks like they are next to a bus. One boy shows a paper bag to the camera. Boys in uniform pack cars and a bus. On the side of the bus it says "AIR CONDITIONED." The boys line up in lines to listen to the troop leader. Parents stand around watching. The boys line up to get on the Trailways bus. Black slug. Segment seven: Graduation, 15:27. A boy in a graduation cap and gown walks out the gate. He comes closer to the camera and smiles. He also poses behind the gate. He poses in the yard, too. His family members are gathered outside, not paying attention. The two younger boys drink from cups. They stand by a car. A woman waves for the camera as another one gets in the car. Segment eight: Stone Mountain, 17:40. A train rolls by with a sign: "STONE MOUNTAIN Scenic RAILROAD." The cars of the train say the same thing on the sides. Dressed up people get off the train and tourists take pictures. A man in a tall hat walks by. A sign: "RIGHT OF WAY STONE MOUNTAIN Scenic RAILROAD" is nailed to a tree. They film a large rock. There are teepees on the side. A Native American man rides a horse through white rocks. He is along the side of the train at many stops. There are old buildings that look like a ghost town where a man shoots off a cannon right outside the buildings. There are many signs, but none of them are easy to read except an advertisement for a fair. Native Americans and cowboys are right in the streets. A building has "Hugh Howell BLACKSMITH" painted on it. Another cannon is being set off. Black slug. Segment nine: Family gathering, 20:06. A young boy is sitting at a table, as other family members are in the room with him. He waves at the camera. The grandmother tries to get him to take his bottle, but she finally puts in down. He stands and waves at the camera some more. Other family members are around the room. The camera continues following the young boy, but also shows other family members. The table is set for a good meal. There is also a smaller children's table. The boys rocks in a chair. Black slug. An older man reads the newspaper, a woman reads a magazine, the younger boy continues walking around. Now, he is opening presents. A man picks up some of the paper. The family members are standing around the room. The boy runs over to one of the adults, but then backs up. He walks around with a toy and waves. He and his parents get ready to leave. Other family members continue to sit around and chat. Black slug. Family members are dressed up and sit around chatting. The young boy plays on the floor. Some family members wave for the camera. They open presents. People walk around handing out the presents. The little boy sits on the floor playing. There are many unopened presents left on a table. The dining room table is set up for a good meal. Different family members open presents. The grandmother waves for the camera. There are presents everywhere. The little boy's mother helps him open a toy so he can play with it. There are other toys on the ground. It gets too dark to see. Black slug. Segment ten: Snow, 27:27. In a shadow outside, there is a dog. It walks onto something white. Once it walks into the light, it becomes obvious that the ground is covered in snow. A boy is out with the dog. He makes a snowball and throws it at the camera. He does this a couple of times. There is snow on the roads, trees, and houses around them. The road still looks like they could drive on it. The boy runs through the snow. Another person is walking down the snowy street. More snow is shown. Black slug. Segment eleven: Vacation, 30:37. Three older women in heavy coats walk together. They smile at the camera. Sign: "HOTEL EDISA BALLROOM ENTRANCE." The camera shows the city around them as they walk by a building. They pose under the sign. Other women also smile and pose for the camera on the street. Tall buildings are shown. There is a large river and lots of boats on it. There is a port area. The boys are passing in front of the camera on the boat. Across the water, is the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty is shown up close. The women have their hair covered up so that it doesn't get wet. The camera pans along the water and shows the city. Black slug. A large building with turrets is shown that looks like a cathedral. Everything is mostly in the shadows. People are bundled up in coats. A river landscape is shown from up above. There are extremely tall buildings. The views are dark because the sun is just crossing the horizon in the distance. The camera pans over to a woman who smiles at the camera. It is still dark. People wait on the side of the street where there is a bus and a sign: "THEATRE TICKETS." People stand in a crowd. Sign: "a Gift of Time." Segment twelve: Home, 38:55. A main walks out of a house toward the flowerbeds. She waves at the camera. The camera pans along the house to show the yard and all of the plants in it. An older woman walks out the front door and waves. Two boys pull a toy car out and ride in it. Landscaping around a house is shown. The camera continues to shoot footage of landscaping and houses. The older woman stands on the front porch of a house and talks to the camera. She then walks over to her flowers and poses in front of them. She does the same thing. She walks through the grass toward the camera. The house next door and the same landscaping is shown again. Black slug. Segment thirteen: Vacation, 42:48. A boy walks by a stone wall with an engraved plaque in the middle of it. Another boy stands looking at the water. The camera pans along the water and shows the land on the other side. It then shows the two boys pointing out things to the camera. There is a beach down below. It films the wall some more. There is an old flag and stone steps leading somewhere through a bunch of trees. The boys get into a car. They walk to a domed building with a statue of an explorer on top. They look carefully at the structure and walk around it. The two boys pose in front of what looks to be a hotel building. The view changes to a ski lift on a hill and the huge water towers nearby. There is a bridge-like structure. By a waterfall, one of the boys walks carefully along rocks in a bathing suit. Another is farther up the fall. The water flows out into the ocean. They play in the water on a beach. The camera films a sunset where everything is dark except the sky. There appears to be a performance on a stage. There is a little town area. People are lining the streets to view a parade. An African American marching band walks by. Most of the people watching on the other side of the street are African American as well. Other troops walk the parade. Black slug. A house with tall plants in front of it is shown. An African American family and one of the boys is posing for the camera in the yard. It keeps panning along them.The camera shows lots of trees, but is still at the house. Two of the African American women walk down a long path. The camera shows the landscaping and wildness of the area. There is water in the distance. The camera shows the roof and the sky. Landscaping is shown more. The plants are blowing in the wind. The camera stands on a balcony overlooking the ocean. There are hills across the bay. On the roof, a woman is sun bathing on diving board by a pool. There is no one else up there. The boys walk to the overlook of the ocean by the pool. One points at a giant palm frond. They walk around to a different position on the pool deck. Black slug. Segment fourteen: Boy scouts, 53:22. Boys in uniforms carry heavy bags. One boy stands in the middle of a parking lot. There are women and children in uniforms gathered in a drop off area with a pile of backpacks and sleeping bags. They stand talking to each other. Some men help the boys load a bus before they board it. They have flags for their troop. A rocky mountain area is shown with someone rappelling down it. There are tall mountains in the distance. More people follow him. Boys swing on a zipline over a lake into the water. There is an explosion in the water. Black slug. Men in suits sit in front of a wall mural. An older boy in a Boy Scout uniform reads to a crowd. By the mural, some dressed up people speak and then sit to listen. A man wearing a medal speaks at a podium. A pennant is given to a man with "Troop 22 ATHENS NORTHEAST GEORGIA COUNCIL" on it. Another man speaks at a podium. A boy in a uniform presents a man in a suit with a book. It is the same man who received the pennant. Black slug. A woman and child come out on stage to join him. The baby is dressed up in a boy scout uniform. A coat and shirt are handed to the man. People on the stage shake hands and talk to each other. A man sits in a chair in front of the wall. He checks his watch. There is a woman in a recliner in the same room with him. Another man is also with them. They are chatting. The baby in the boy scout uniform from the ceremony plays with a spoon. An adult holds his hand while he stands in front of a large chair. Black slug. Segment fifteen: Vacation, 1:01:16. Trees are shown in front of mountains. A car sits on a road. Black slug. The camera is having trouble so it is cutting through scenes quickly: a parade, two small children. A view of the water is shown. It pans up toward the sky. There is an airplane in the sky. Down below is the water. Black slug. People crowd around the street to watch a parade. There are people marching, but also giant floats. One float had a cow on it. One float has a sign: "Laguna Beach." There is a huge crowd of people. There is a large hill that almost looks like a volcano the way it is shaped. A sign: "APACHE TRAIL" points to the trail. A man in a suit walks behind the sign in a desert area. There are hills and bushes. The camera pans along the landscape. An African American boy rides behind mules. A woman walks on planks out to the car. The boy is shown again. Two dogs walk around outside behind a puppy. They stay very close. The puppy explores. A house with a screened in porch is shown attached to the yard with the dogs. There are other houses in the background, and the yard is fenced in. Camera problems. Black slug. Segment sixteen: People getting together, 1:06:57. A girl is waving to the camera. A group of people are out together. A young woman is out on a walk with a young man. The camera shot is too dark to see much. People walk and pose together. A girl holds her chin up with her hand. A man walks away from his car toward the camera. A woman waves at the camera. The camera pans around to show their surroundings. Black slug. Women sit together. Segment seventeen: Parade, 1:09:31. People watch a parade. Baton twirlers walk by. There are floats pulled by people in wagons. There are people dressed up and people carrying signs. A police follows on a motorcycle. Two men carry a sign: "SCHOOL SAFETY PATROL MONTGOMERY COUNTY RD." There are more baton twirlers and a marching band. A vehicle pulls a float labelled "MASCOT" that has a sign: "Use YOUR Senses." Safety and death seem to be a theme of the parade. There are even more baton twirlers. Sign: "UNITED IN SAFETY." A group of women march together. A group of boys march then comes a banner: "ATHENS, GA. HOME OF THE FAMOUS GEORGIA BULLDOGS." Lots of school children are marching. People pose with the banner. Segment eighteen: Travels, 1:13:38. People are walking in a crowd. Boys sit on a moving train. The view of the camera is dark, but there is a crowd of students and a neon sign. A vehicle drives down the road with the camera in it. Boys get off a bus. they are dressed up. A large crowd of boys walk in a group up some stairs and across a park. They walk around a plaza toward an old building. The U.S. Capitol building is shown. Sign: "HOTEL CONTINENTAL." Boys in uniform walk out of the hotel. They hold the banner: "ATHENS, GA. HOME OF THE FAMOUS GEORGIA BULLDOGS" and pose in front of it. The boys stand in front of the Capitol with the banner. They pose as a group in front of the Capitol. They stand on the National Mall with other groups and the Washington Monument in the background. They march the banner. The National Mall is full of similar groups of boys. There are some adults, too. Black slug. Segment nineteen: Baby, 1:18:35. The camera comes into focus on a baby lying on a blanket. The father holds the baby in the area. The baby lies in a chair and looks around. The baby squirms and tries to get up. The mother feeds the baby food from a jar. Black slug. Segment twenty: Children, 1:20:30. The screen is completely dark except for a lamp. Outside, a little girl plays with a ball near a pole. She runs around the yard and goes over to the dog. A baby tries to sit up on a blanket. The camera quality is poor. The baby is laying down on a blanket. The baby is sleeping with its feet in the air. The baby lies down in a crib. The camera quality is still poor, making it hard to see what is on the camera. Black slug. Segment twenty-one: Holidays, 1:23:09. A grandmother is standing in the kitchen cooking in a pot on the stove. A woman and a man walk in with bags and presents. Another woman walks in with a toddler. The father follows behind with a toy and a present. The toddler rides on a toy horse. Family members gather at the table to eat together. A man cleans the face of the baby and makes faces at it. The family members pick up and open presents by the filled table. An older boy smiles at the camera. A grandmother waves at the camera. She talks with another family member. The baby sits along on a couch. The grandmother sits in front of the window. The camera shows the family members around the room. A man holds the baby and waves. Black slug. They walk together outside of the house. The women pose together in front of the bushes and bricks. They wave at the camera. One of the boys poses outside. He carries bags out to the car for people and loads the trunk. Another boy joins him. There are a lot of bags for them to load. The grandmother comes out on the porch. One of the women helps them load the bags. The boy helping waves at the camera then comes and talks to it. He ducks out of the frame. The camera films the members in the car. Black slug.
